Amy's Birthday

We decided to celebrate my birthday a little early this year because we were going out of town with his family on my actual birthday. J.R. & I drove down to San Diego and spent the day at Sea World.
While there we did something I've never done in the ten plus years I've had a season pass. We took the Bayside Skyride.

We had a nice relaxing day and a good dinner. Then we drove down to the bay. We walked around for a little bit then were greeted by fireworks going off over the bay. It was a nice day.

On my actual birthday J.R., Pam and I drove up to Big Bear for the Big Bear Air Show. Pam got a room for the 3 of us. It turned out to be quite a bit nicer than any of us realized. We went to Pete's cabin and had a really nice dinner. Pam surprised me by buying me Sprinkles cupcakes. They were so wonderful.

The next day we got up early and went to the pancake breakfast at the air show. The air show itself turned out to be a real disappointment including for J.R. The most exciting part of the morning was when a plane came into land and its landing gear didn't come down. It came in for a landing on its belly. There were lots of sparks but everyone was fine. After lunch I wasn't feeling too well so I went back to the hotel to relax.

When Pam and J.R. returned I was informed that I missed the best part of the show. Oh well. I wasn't too upset as I enjoyed a relaxing afternoon alone. The three of us then went down to the village for a really nice dinner. We walked around the village for a little bit after.

Sunday was a pretty lazy day. We all slept in. On our way home we decided to make a quick detour and check out the zoo before we went down the mountain. It's obviously a very small zoo but we enjoyed ourselves. Overall, it was a really nice weekend. Not a terrible way to start the last year of my 20's.
