My 30th Birthday

My birthday this year was a fairly significant as I turned 30. Thankfully, my mom was able to come visit. We picked her up from the airport in a mad rush. First, we were running a bit late. Second, as we were on our way I received a message from my mom that her plane had already arrived. Our final problem was the fact that the airport was unusually packed. As we pulled up my mom just jumped in the car and we drove off.

Our first stop was dinner, as J.R. and I hadn't eaten. We of course took my mom to In n Out as she hadn't had that in over a year. We then made a quick stop at Michael's' before heading home. we were all pretty tired when we got home so we all crashed.

Friday morning my mom and I set out to get everything she needed to make my birthday cake. I was then off to work while my mom began baking. As J.R. got the opportunity to go the Angel game, my mom and I decided to make a trip out to Downtown Disney after I got off work. Unfortunately, she wasn't feeling too well when I got home and we waited a bit too long to get out to Downtown Disney. Thankfully, we were able to get some dinner before heading out to pick J.R. up.

Saturday was my actual birthday. We had a relaxing morning as my mom finished my cake. that afternoon was my birthday party. We grilled in the backyard and had a nice time. later that evening we went swimming and played some wii. It was a really great day with friends and family. I was so glad my mom was able to visit. I only wish my dad and brother could have been there as well.

Sunday morning my mom, J.R. and I got up and drove down to San Diego. We made a stop at Solana Beach for my mom to see "our beach."

We then made our way over to the Wild Animal Park for the day as my mom hadn't been there.

This little one here was 2 hours old. Amazing!

For dinner we decided to go to one of our favorite places, Chevy's. It was so very good. I figured we still had a bit of time left and my mom didn't get the opportunity to visit Downtown Disney so we made the drive there. We had a good time walking around and showing her everything. However, we were all completely exhausted.

Monday morning I drove my mom out to the airport. It was difficult to say goodbye. But I was so very glad we were able to have this visit.

Solana Beach

On J.R.'s training ride this Saturday he rode down to Solana Beach and took the train back. Pam and I decided to join him on the train ride home. The two of us took the train down. That was quite the experience.

What we didn't' realize was it was opening day at the race track in Del Mar. Because of this the train was first, extremely late, about 40 minutes. Secondly, the train was completely packed. Pam and I had to stand the entire trip. The final problem was the fact thatwe were about the only 2 people on board not drunk, at 11 in the morning. It was crazy.

So not only did we have to stand the whole time, we had to deal with a car full of quite loud people who were continually walking up and down the aisle past us. We were more than thankful to get offthat train.

We arrived a bit before J.R. and took a walk through the shops and down to the beach. Once J.R. arrived the 3 of us went to lunch and took a walk on the beach before we had to board the train to go home. It was an interesting trip, especially the first part. However, the rest of the day was nice.
